A Florida woman is accused of leaving her two children in a car that caught fire.
She left them there so she could go shoplifting.
Alicia Moore, 24, of Orlando, Florida, is accused of leaving her two children in a car outside a mall. She and an unknown man then went to the store and shoplifted for an hour. Meanwhile, her car caught fire.
When she noticed her car was on fire, she dropped the stolen goods and ran out of the store. The car was destroyed, and her children were helped by passers-by. One child received first-degree burns. Moore was charged with child neglect and theft.
We have no clue what started the fire. The arrest report alleges that Alicia’s neglect contributed to the children’s injuries. The fire broke out during the commission of her crime.
She said on Friday that she does not feel guilty. The hearing is scheduled for June 27.
